A roof rafter at the Justice Complex building in Jonesboro needs to be reinforced and services at the building will have to be moved. During a routine inspection of the building, the failing rafter was discovered.
The city has not released a cost estimate for the repairs and has not released a timeframe for the work to be completed.
The repair is similar to previous reinforcement processes and is expected to take three to five weeks, but an exact time frame has yet to be determined.
Due to the likelihood of power and utility disruptions as a part of that process, there will be a temporary relocation of services.
Until the repairs are complete, District Court will be temporarily held in the Craighead County Courthouse Annex on Union Avenue.
All other services will have the same contact phone number including the Jonesboro Police Department and the city attorney.
