Connections: National Philanthropy Day event to be held in Fayetteville

The Northwest Arkansas chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals will host the 2024 National Philanthropy Day Luncheon on Nov. 13 at the Fayetteville Public Library Event Center.

The event, presented by the Willard and Pat Walker Charitable Foundation Inc., honors those whose contributions have impacted the region.

Following are the awardees:
• Outstanding philanthropists: Denton and Cathy Cole Seilhan — nominated by Single Parent Scholarship Fund of Northwest Arkansas and CASA of Northwest Arkansas.
• Lifetime philanthropic achievement: Willard and Pat Walker Charitable Foundation — nominated by Arkansas Children’s hospital and Circle of Life Hospice.
• Outstanding volunteer fundraiser: Lowell Grisham — nominated by Magdalene Serenity House.
• Outstanding fundraising executive: Elizabeth Shackelford, Children’s Safety Center — nominated by Children’s Safety Center.
• Outstanding corporation: Adventure Subaru — nominated by Single Parent Scholarship Fund of Northwest Arkansas.
• Outstanding foundation: Bank of America Charitable Foundation — nominated by Peace at Home Family Shelter.
• Youth Philanthropy Award, group: Southside High School Red Shoe Club — nominated by Ronald McDonald House Charities of Arkoma.
• Outstanding philanthropic organization: Single Parent Scholarship Fund of Northwest Arkansas — nominated by University Advancement for the University of Arkansas.
• Legacy Award: Ed Nicholson — nominated by Northwest Arkansas Food Bank.
• Special Judges’ Award: Naccaman Williams — nominated by University Advancement for the University of Arkansas.
