Delta Center for Economic Development to host ‘Leadership in Banking’ series

The Delta Center for Economic Development (DCED) will host a “Leadership in Banking” series, with sessions at the Delta Center on the Arkansas State University campus.

The monthly meetings of regional bankers will explore contemporary issues and skills related to the banking industry. Most sessions will be led by professors from the Neil Griffin College of Business. Participants will expand their knowledge and understanding of the banking profession, further develop skills in leadership and expand their network of colleagues.

Dr. David Kern, associate professor of finance and McAdams Frierson Chair of Bank Management, will lead the first session “Contemporary Issues in Banking,” on Sept. 11. C. David White, chief lending officer at Farmer’s Bank and Trust in Magnolia, will lead “Leadership in Lending,” on Oct. 9.

Dr. Hilary Schloemer, associate professor of management, will lead “Management Issues in Banking,” on Nov. 13. Dr. H. Steve Leslie, assistant professor of business communication, will lead “Business Communication for Banking,” on Dec. 11.

Dr. Katie Hill, associate professor of marketing and director of the R.M. “Bob” Wood Sales Leadership Center, will lead “Sales and Marketing for Banking,” on Jan. 15. Dr. Cliff E. Jones, deputy director of DCED, will lead “Leadership Fundamentals for Banking,” on Feb. 12.
