Fort Smith chamber president lands in Round Rock
Tom Manskey, who will step down as president of the Fort Smith Regional Chamber of Commerce on Jan. 30, has been named the president of the Round Rock, Texas, Chamber of Commerce.
On Dec. 12, the Fort Smith chamber formally announced that Manskey was resigning “to pursue other opportunities.” Coincidentally, the former Round Rock chamber president Charlie Dromgoole announced in July that he was resigning “to pursue other opportunities.”
Round Rock, a city of about 78,000 located about 15 minutes north of Austin, is the corporate headquarters of Dell Inc., and home to Nolan Ryan’s AAA baseball club the Round Rock Express.
“I am very excited about the opportunities that exist in and around Round Rock, not only for the Chamber of Commerce but for the business community as a whole. Round Rock has always been one of my favorite communities and to have the opportunity to work with a great staff and great volunteer leadership in such a desirable area is really exciting,” Manskey said in a statement issued by the Round Rock chamber.
The statement also noted that Manskey “is excited to be moving back to his home state of Texas” and will start the job effective Feb. 1.
