Wingfoot expands U.S. footprint
Fort Smith-based Wingfoot Commercial Tire Systems has opened two new Wingfoot Truck Care Centers in Joplin, Mo., and Greenwood, La.
With these openings, there are now 40 Wingfoot Truck Care Centers in the U.S., according to a Wingfoot statement.
Wingfoot is a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.
Each new service center spans 10,300 square feet and sells Goodyear, Dunlop and Kelly truck tires, plus retreaded tires. The centers also provide trucking fleets with oil changes and other preventive maintenance services; light mechanical services, such as brake, electrical and heating/air conditioning repair; and 24/7 roadside assistance to get trucks back on the road quickly.
"Both of our new Wingfoot Truck Care Center locations have three service bays," said Clint Schrock, director of on-highway operations for Goodyear. "And each bay is dedicated to a different type of service. One bay is mainly used for tire replacement and other tire-related services, another is dedicated to light mechanical work, and the third bay has a full-length oil change pit and serves as an express lube bay."
The Joplin Wingfoot Truck Care Center is located on Interstate 44 at exit 11A, while the Greenwood Wingfoot Truck Care Center is located on Interstate 20 at exit three. Both outlets are located on Pilot Flying J properties.
"Both of these new Wingfoot Truck Care Centers are situated on a high-traffic shipping route," said Schrock. "This, combined with the centers’ strategic on-highway positioning at Pilot Flying J locations, gives fleets and owner-operators greater access to our comprehensive array of products, services and solutions."
