Gaines to run for Commissioner of State Lands as Democrat

Goldi Gaines said she plans to seek the Democratic nomination for Commissioner of State Lands, the office currently held by Republican Tommy Land.

Gaines is a former Advance Medical Support Assistant (MSA) for the Chief of Staff for the Department of Veterans Affairs.

“I’m running for Arkansas Commissioner of State Lands to ‘heal the land.’ It was in the trenches that I earned my stripes. I got a close look at hardships that come with poor legislation and education of God’s people,” Gaines said.

Gaines, a North Little Rock native, said she plans to focus her campaign on education, voter registration, and innovation.

She holds an associate degree of Arts from Pulaski Technical College in 2004. In 2010, Gaines graduated from the University of Phoenix with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management. In 2014, she earned her Master of Science in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix.
