Fast 15: Hunter Gehring

Hunter Gehring enjoys helping other people be successful. As a wealth manager, he offers financial counsel to his clients to have peace of mind when they are ready to retire.

“The suggestions I make ultimately change the landscape for somebody’s retirement picture,” he said. “So, it’s important to me personally, and I take pride in doing a lot of due diligence to make sure what I’m recommending to people is the most suitable investment vehicle for them.”

Gehring helps people at all phases of their financial life, from starting in their careers to transitioning to retirement, to the years in retirement, to the last stage of life as they transition assets to loved ones. Ideally, his relationships with his clients are for life. Fulfilled by seeing the peace of mind that comes with an effective retirement plan, Gehring knows his clients’ success is ultimately his success.

Gehring learned about customer service from his first job at age 15, working at a golf course cleaning golf carts, maintaining the driving range and taking care of the golfers.

“Customer service is essential no matter what field of business you are in,” he said. “I have a book of business that I operate, and that’s my job, to take care of my customers and make sure they are in a position to achieve their financial goals and are comfortable with where they are in their journey. That they’re hitting those mile markers on their road map to retirement.”

Originally from Ladera Ranch, Calif., Gehring is an Eagle Scout and speaks Spanish. He graduated from Brigham Young University in 2016 with a business management degree (emphasis in finance). Gehring’s parents had moved to Northwest Arkansas, and while visiting the area, he met his future wife. After graduation, he accepted a job with Arvest. He helped pioneer the Arvest Solution Center in 2016 and became a client advisor in 2017. Gehring exceeded production goals last year by a higher percentage than anyone in Arvest Benton County and continues to break all production records in 2021.

A self-described “doer,” Gehring reads reports and looks at trends, the economy and stocks in his off time. Last year, he enjoyed advising the Bentonville High School investment club in preparation for a national competition. He also enjoys playing golf and spending time with his family.
