Medical employees, Muldrow church help Ghana flood victims
Employees at Summit Medical Center in Van Buren and Sparks Health System in Fort Smith worked together to load donated clothes to be sent thousands of miles away.
Dr. Adjei, a cardiologist at Sparks Health System, made a plea for help for his home country of Ghana. The country was recently devastated by floods and many of the people in the country have been left without anything.
Shawn Imhoof, radiology director at Summit Medical Center and member of Free Will Baptist Church in Muldrow wanted to help.
"Our church operates a mission called The Father’s Closet and we have a lot of donated clothing that we could spare to help the people of Ghana," Imhoof said.
Other church members also pitched in to help pack up the clothes and unload them to ship to Ghana. More than 140 boxes of clothes were donated and will be shipped to the country to help the victims of the floods.
