New chancellors named for UAM, UACCM
On Monday (Oct. 21), the University of Arkansas board of trustees accepted UA System President Donald Bobbitt recommendations for chancellors at two different campuses in the University of Arkansas System.
Bobbitt recommended Peggy Doss as chancellor for the University of Arkansas at Monticello. Doss’ appointment would become effective Jan. 1, 2020.
As provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs, Doss has focused on student retention efforts and been involved with faculty and staff in an early alert system and a campaign encouraging students to enroll in a least 15 hours each semester to promote graduation in four years.
Prior to becoming provost, Doss served for a decade as dean of the School of Education. She has also served UAM as vice chancellor for student affairs and university relations after working in public education as a teacher and administrator.
Lisa Willenberg was selected as chancellor of the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton. She will become chancellor on Nov. 1, 2019.
Willenberg, who now serves as vice chancellor for finance and operations at the community college, has worked at the school for 27 years, starting as a general accountant and becoming vice chancellor in 2011.
Willenberg would become the college’s fourth leader since its founding in 1963 and the first woman named to the top post.
