RJW Logistics Group hires Forbis, appoints Sultemeier

An Illinois company in the supply chain logistics space has tapped into Walmart’s talent pipeline to bolster its business.

Illinois-based RJW Logistics Group Inc. has hired Greg Forbis as senior vice president of strategy and business development.

Forbis will work from RJW’s supplier support office in downtown Bentonville and develop the company’s retail logistics program. He worked for Walmart for 30 years. Most recently, Forbis was the company’s senior director of regional transportation and general merchandise inbound transportation.

RJW also announced the addition of Chris Sultemeier to its board of directors. Sultemeier is a former president and CEO of Walmart Transportation and retired executive vice president of logistics for Walmart. He now spends part of retirement as an operating partner of NewRoad Capital Partners in Rogers, the largest venture capital firm in Arkansas.

RJW specializes in less-than-truckload (LTL) consolidation services for consumer packaged goods suppliers that sell their products to large, national retailers. The company’s services include asset-based transportation, logistics and warehousing.

RJW is headquartered in the Chicago suburb of Woodridge. Ron Williamson founded the business in 1981. Kevin Williamson, his son, became CEO in 2010.

Mason Wells, a private equity firm in Wisconsin, acquired RJW from the Williamson family earlier this year. The companies did not disclose financial terms.
