Ozarks at Large, The City Wire announce partnership
Ozarks at Large (KUAF 91.3) and The City Wire have agreed to a content partnership that will allow both organizations to expand the information provided to their respective listeners and readers.
The partnership also allows KUAF News Director Kyle Kellams and The City Wire Editor Michael Tilley to collaborate on coverage of issues important to residents of Northwest Arkansas and the Fort Smith area. The veteran reporters have a combined 45 years in journalism and covering issues and events in the two metro areas.
“I’m thrilled to include The City Wire in our efforts to report on the news of our entire listening area. Michael and the people involved with the The City Wire can help us explain the events and news of a large part of our region,” Kellams said.
The first effort in the partnership includes a weekly discussion between Kellams and Tilley of happenings in the two metro areas and around the state. With the 88th Arkansas General Assembly set to begin in January, political maneuvering in Little Rock is likely to be a frequent topic.
Sharing content on the websites of the two organizations also is included in the agreement.
“We’re convinced that expanding our content partnerships is important to our success and is where quality journalism is headed. We are partnered with KFSM 5 News in Fort Smith and Northwest Arkansas. We are partnered with Roby Brock and his Talk Business franchise that provides statewide political and business news. And now we’re pleased to be a partner with the respected team at KUAF 91.3,” said Tom Kirkham, publisher and co-owner of The City Wire.
Ozarks at Large began as a twice-a-week show when KUAF was still just 10 watts. In 1990, Kellams took over and made it a weekly news magazine, and in 1994 the show was expanded to two shows each weekend. In March, Kellams marked 20 years as host/producer. On Aug. 2, Kellams and crew began a new, hour-long daily edition of Ozarks at Large on KUAF 91.3 FM.
Re-launched in November 2008, The City Wire is a web publication focusing on business, political and cultural news and events in the Fort Smith Region. The web publication, which has generated more than 350,000 unique visitors in the past 2 years, also includes statewide business and political news.
