Krushiker Hospitality proposes 119-room Home2 Suites by Hilton near NWACC in Bentonville

Another hotel is being planned in Bentonville.
Hotel management and development company Krushiker Hospitality Group Inc. (KHG) of Springdale has filed a large-scale development plan with the city to build a 119-room hotel just off northbound Interstate 49. The 2.6-acre site is on Southeast Griffin Drive near NorthWest Arkansas Community College. It would be built to the south of the 78-room TownePlace Suites by Marriott at 3100 S.E. 14th St.
The proposal will be considered Tuesday (July 17) at the regular meeting of the Bentonville Planning Commission.
The five-story project, according to planning documents, is called Home2 Suites by Hilton. KHG, owned by Narendra “Narry” Krushiker, has a similar development under construction across from the Northwest Arkansas Convention Center on South 48th Street in Springdale. The company is also building a five-story, 121-room hotel just north of Pinnacle Hills Promenade in Rogers, called Creekside Courtyard by Marriott.
Jana McCarty, a KHG spokesperson, confirmed the company is planning a hotel at the Southeast Griffin Drive location in Bentonville but said there was no development timeline in place.
The land is owned by a limited liability company controlled by Matt Sitton. Sitton’s eponymous commercial real estate development firm in Rogers acquired the land from Arvest Bank in December for $1.35 million. The deal, with a purchase price of $3.21 per square foot, involved eight parcels totaling 9.65 acres.
Sitton has since sold a portion of the land, most recently a 0.98-acre lot in at the southwest corner of Southeast Eagle Way and Southeast 14th Street. It was sold for $624,000 ($14.62 per square foot) to a limited liability company owned by Tom Gordon, co-founder and CEO of Fayetteville-based restaurant chain Slim Chickens.
KHG operates eight hotels in Northwest Arkansas and Fort Smith. The newest opened in October 2014, the $12 million Hilton Garden Inn & Conference Center, a 115-room facility located at the southbound Wedington Road exit off Interstate 49 in Fayetteville.
HOTEL INVENTORY
In June, a development group that involves Tom Walton announced plans to develop a 0.60-acre site at the southeast corner of the downtown square in Bentonville into a full-service hotel that will have between 100 and 200 rooms.
The hotel will be built on the Tucker’s Corner site at 200 E. Central Ave., a building now home to multiple tenants, including the Greater Bentonville Area Chamber of Commerce.
The project is in the early stages of design and is expected to break ground in 2019.
Construction is also nearing completion on the four-story, 107-room Element Hotel by Westin near the southbound Interstate 49 exit at South Walton Boulevard in Bentonville, behind Cracker Barrel. It will be the city’s 24th hotel
According to the city’s tourism bureau (Visit Bentonville), Bentonville’s existing 23 hotels have a combined 2,003 rooms, an average of 87 rooms per hotel.
