William L Harris III, lovingly known as Bill or Billy, age 74, passed away peacefully at his home on July 5, 2026. He was born on March 16, 1952, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, and he was the son of William L Harris Jr. and Genevieve (Morris) Harris.

Bill dedicated more than 40 years of service as the Service Manager at Fort Smith Restaurant Supply, where he was known for his strong work ethic, knowledge, and commitment to those he served. He shared 43 wonderful years of marriage with the love of his life, Caroline (Henry) Harris, building a life filled with love, devotion, and cherished memories.

Bill was a steadfast supporter of the Second Amendment and was a proud member of the NRA, Gun Owners of America, and the Old Fort Gun Club. He was also a lifelong motorcycle enthusiast who enjoyed building, restoring, and riding motorcycles whenever he had the opportunity. Beyond his personal interests, he had a compassionate heart for animals and never turned away a stray in need, especially cats. His kindness was evident in the care he showed to those who could not care for themselves.

Remembered for his optimistic spirit and genuine kindness, Bill had a remarkable ability to see the good in others. His positive outlook, generous heart, and unwavering love for his family, friends, and animals will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

William is survived by his loving wife, Caroline Harris; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in passing by his parents, William L Harris Jr. and Genevieve (Morris) Harris.

In lieu of flowers, Bill’s family has asked that you make a donation to Kitties and Kanines, 4300 Phoenix Ave, Fort Smith, Arkansas.

There will be a visitation held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 10, 2026. A graveside service will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Barling Cemetery, in Barling, Arkansas.
