Rogers-based home remodeling company DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen of Northwest Arkansas said it recently earned first place in Showplace Cabinetry’s New Product Design Contest for DreamMaker’s Scandinavian Modern Remodel, a full main-floor renovation of a Cave Springs home.
The project was designed by owner Mary Baxter, who has more than 20 years of experience. The project transformed a French-style home into a more modern, functional space to better meet the family’s needs.
“We listened closely to what the clients needed and focused on improving function while keeping the space aesthetically beautiful,” Baxter said. “The home had a very traditional French style, but the clients wanted a more modern feel. We blended traditional and modern elements and made significant updates.”
The renovation included new flooring throughout the main floor, updated bedroom beams and paint, a redesigned laundry room, and a custom dog wash station and pool bath. The kitchen has larger drawers and concealed cabinetry for storing small appliances, a coffee machine and a microwave.
A custom walnut pull-out table built into the island slides out from beneath the quartz countertop to provide additional workspace or seating and tucks away while not in use.
Other features include a custom hood built from three-quarter-inch walnut wood strips with black crown detailing, a matching walnut hutch and two hidden coffee bars with roll-back doors. Also installed were a porcelain-slab fireplace with modern metal doors and two large frosted-glass metal doors.
“I get excited when I know what the client wants, and I have to marry two designs to please both the wife and husband,” Baxter said.
DreamMaker has eight full-time employees.
