J.B. Hunt Transport Services Inc., a Lowell-based transportation services provider, said Thursday (March 5) that it’s been approved to have its common stock listed on Nasdaq Texas LLC. J.B. Hunt will continue to be listed on the Nasdaq global market.
According to a news release, Nasdaq Texas is a new dual-listing venue that expands Nasdaq’s presence in the state by enabling companies to list on an exchange formed under Texas law while maintaining access to Nasdaq’s global platform, technology and market infrastructure.
J.B. Hunt’s listing and trading of its stock on the Nasdaq Texas began on Friday (March 6) under the symbol JBHT, the same as on the Nasdaq global market. J.B. Hunt’s listing on Nasdaq Texas won’t affect investors’ ability to buy or sell the company’s stock, which will continue to trade on the Nasdaq.
“Nasdaq Texas represents opportunity and future growth, and J.B. Hunt is proud to be part of this growth,” said Shelley Simpson, president and CEO of J.B. Hunt. “We’ll continue to invest in the people, technology and capacity to support our customers’ needs in the region, and we’re excited about what comes next – for this market and for the businesses that keep the world moving.”
Simpson joined industry and Nasdaq leaders and Texas officials at the March 5 closing bell ceremony commemorating the launch of the Nasdaq Texas exchange.
J.B. Hunt’s operations include key freight routes to Texas ports and intermodal rail systems that cross the state. The company serves customers in the state in the energy, industrial, retail and manufacturing industries. J.B.
