George Gotcher had been a master jeweler all of his life, taking after his father and grandfather. He worked for several jewelry stores in Texas and Arkansas. He and his wife, Denise, moved to Little Rock in 2010 to work for a family-owned jewelry store and in 2012 he was asked to move to Jonesboro to work at a different location.

In 2015, the jewelry store changed from family owned to a corporation. George Gotcher was prompted by several close friends to open his own custom jewelry studio so he resigned and built a shop in his garage.

By 2017, he had moved his business to a building in downtown and eventually bought a building in the area a few years later.
