Several economic development entities will host a jobs fair and career expo Thursday (April 24) on the Black River Technical College campus in Pocahontas.

The NEA Regional Intermodal Authority has partnered with the Randolph and Lawrence County Chambers to host the event.

About 25 employers are expected to attend and about 300 jobs will be offered.

“The NEA Intermodal along with our chamber partners is committed to identifying economic development opportunities and marketing our area to potential employers and talent,” NEA Intermodal Executive Director Graycen Bigger said. “This event supports our local businesses and allows applicants to learn about companies, job openings and available benefit packages in a convenient manner.”

Jobs will include entry level and skilled jobs in healthcare and manufacturing. Several second chance businesses will be there, too.

The first hour of the jobs fair will be students only and then the fair will open up to the general public.

BRTC officials will be on-hand to explain educational training programs the school offers.
