Jonesboro-based Hytrol on Wednesday (April 9) held a grand opening for a two-person medical clinic in its Fort Smith manufacturing operation. The clinic opened in November 2024 and is open to employees and their family members.
Since January 2021, Hytrol has invested more than $20 million to open its Fort Smith manufacturing operation located in 300,000 square feet of a building Whirlpool once used as its storage and distribution warehouse. The company manufactures conveyer belt systems and other material handling systems for a variety of businesses, including those involved in the e-commerce sector.
The company has had a medical clinic at its primary manufacturing operation in Jonesboro since 1988.
Hytrol invested $150,000 to open the clinic for the 308 people employed in the Fort Smith plant, the company said in information provided to Talk Business & Politics. Valerie Shelby, an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN), and Stacy Boggs, a registered nurse, are employed by Hytrol at the Fort Smith clinic. Hytrol said Shelby and Boggs each have more than 30 years of experience.
“I am excited to see Hytrol’s continued commitment to our core value of family with the opening of the Fort Smith Medical Clinic,” said Will Mangrum, Fort Smith’s vice president of operations. “This investment promotes healthier lifestyles by offering free preventative and curative care and wellness programs to employees and their families, allowing them to prioritize their health without worrying about insurance or missing work.”
Care at the clinic includes acute illness, management of chronic illnesses, lab services, EKGs, certain vaccinations, sutures, imaging and procedure referrals, pap/pelvic exams, and referrals to specialists.
The clinic is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 8 a.m. to noon Friday.
