The Northwest Arkansas Regional Planning Commission wants feedback on the Razorback Greenway Corridor Plan.
The commission is gathering feedback via public survey, which will be available through the end of May. Link here for the survey.
The Walton Family Foundation’s Northwest Arkansas Design Excellence Program supports the plan that’s expected to guide future development along the 40-mile trail, according to a news release.
Following are desired results from the Razorback Greenway Corridor Plan.
• Integrate trail-oriented development (TOD) to support vibrant, mixed-use areas.
• Address housing accessibility by identifying opportunities for diverse housing near the trail.
• Promote environmental innovation through natural infrastructure and open space planning.
• Ensure robust public input throughout the process.
“As Northwest Arkansas continues to grow, we have an opportunity to think more broadly about how the Razorback Greenway serves the region,” said Tim Reavis, multimodal transportation planner for Northwest Arkansas Regional Planning Commission. “Hearing from the public will help us shape a corridor plan that reflects community needs and supports quality of life.
“This is an important moment—as our population moves toward 1 million by 2050, the Greenway can play a bigger role in how we connect, commute and grow together.”
Staff of the Northwest Arkansas Regional Planning Commission will be stationed near the start, midpoint and finish line of the 2025 Square 2 Square Spring Bike Ride from Bentonville to Fayetteville on Saturday (May 3) between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m. Staff will be available to answer questions about the Razorback Greenway survey and upcoming regional active transportation plan.
The Razorback Greenway plan was recently discussed at the Build Bentonville lunch series event, which focused on regional transportation infrastructure.
