Class of 2024 Forty Under 40 David Proffitt Financial Advisor Wilson Coker Wealth Advisors, Rogers

David Proffitt’s knowledge of large business transactions, the insurance industry and interest in financial markets led him to become a financial advisor in 2020.

In 2023, he joined Wilson Coker Wealth Advisors after working for another wealth management firm.

“This is the best move I’ve ever made, and every day, I’m still very happy here,” he said.

Proffitt provides investment management and financial advisory services to more than 130 clients. He’s also the firm’s life and disability insurance specialist, offering clients life insurance, disability income protection and long-term care planning.

A fourth-generation Fayetteville resident, Proffitt earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of Arkansas in 2008. He’s completed his SIE, Series 7 and 66 exams and is licensed in six states for life and health insurance.

In 2010, he started in the financial services sector as a business broker with an area brokerage. After working with business owners, he wanted to start his own business. In 2013, he started an insurance business and worked as a multiple-line agent at American National.

Career highlights include starting and building a viable business from nothing, establishing relationships and developing plans to help clients financially.

He plans to earn a professional designation and partnership with the firm. He added that one of his interests is working with families who have children with special needs. He looks to expand on this work.

He’s involved in Business Network International, the leadership committee for Northwest Arkansas Go Getters, and served on the Fayetteville Parks and Recreation Advisory Board.

He enjoys Razorback and Western sports and cooking for friends. He noted that between high school and 2020, he worked in the food service industry, including at area restaurants and catering companies.
