Connections: Butterfield Trail Village hires new CEO

Fayetteville retirement community Butterfield Trail Village Inc. has hired Kevin Spears as its chief executive officer, succeeding interim CEO Jack Mitchell.

Spears was most recently CEO of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital, an 80-bed, 300-employee hospital in Jonesboro. He’s also been executive vice president and COO for White River Health System in Batesville and CEO of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital in Memphis.

“An opportunity to lead a unique, highly reputable organization like Butterfield in a place like Northwest Arkansas doesn’t come along very often, and I was honored to be selected for this role,” Spears said.

Founded in 1986, Butterfield is home to more than 400 seniors.
