NLR Chamber to launch Arkansas Latino Hall of Fame
The North Little Rock Chamber of Commerce announced it will launch the Arkansas Latino Hall of Fame (ALHOF), a statewide initiative whose mission is “to foster unity, honor cultural richness, and amplify the voices of those whose stories have woven the fabric of our state.”
Nominations for the inaugural 2024 Induction Class are now open. The 2024 Induction Ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, October 24th at the Wyndham Riverfront Hotel.
The Arkansas Latino Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony hopes to annually bring together leaders, visionaries, and community members to celebrate the achievements of Latinos who have significantly contributed to Arkansas culture, society and the economy.
“The importance of recognizing individuals who have contributed to the enrichment of our state serves to inspire the next generation of leaders” said Angele Galvis Schnuerle, Chair of the Arkansas Latino Hall of Fame.
Each year a group of Latinos will be inducted in the Arkansas Latino Hall of Fame who have:
- Made significant and enduring contributions to their field of endeavor, professional or otherwise;
- Affected the social, cultural, economic, or political well-being of the community, state or nation;
- Elevated the status of Latinos and positively impacted the Latino community;
- Helped open new frontiers for Latinos and for society in general; and
- Inspired others by their example.
Nominees are not limited to a certain field or accomplishment and can include pioneers, philanthropists, educators, entrepreneurs, athletes, artists, business leaders and political figures.
Nominations must be submitted by Friday, June 14th. Criteria and nomination forms can be found on the website at www.arlatinohalloffame.com.
