An Arkansas-based pet boarding and grooming company recently opened its sixth Arkansas location in Rogers.

Hounds Lounge Pet Resort & Spa is at 1201 S. 43rd St., just off South Promenade Boulevard east of Interstate 49. Mandy Marshall and Justin Harris of Little Rock are the co-owners.

Hound’s Lounge opened its first location in July 2016 at 1711 Rebsamen Park Road in Little Rock. The new store joins existing locations in Bryant, Fayetteville, Little Rock (2) and North Little Rock.

At 12,500 square feet, the Rogers location is the largest in the chain and the first new-build location. Little Rock-based Encore Bank financed the construction with a four-year, $3.2 million construction loan.

“Our aim is to meet the specific needs of the local Rogers community, and this new location, designed from the ground up, does exactly that,” Marshall said.

Hounds Lounge offers various dog services, such as daycare, boarding, grooming, and self-service wash stations. It includes private suites for dogs of all sizes, allowing dogs from the same household to stay together. The facility has extensive indoor and outdoor play areas and round-the-clock staffing.

The Rogers expansion will create approximately 25 full- and part-time jobs. The company’s owners declined to disclose its revenue information.

According to Benton County property records, Hounds Lounge bought the 1.18-acre site for the Rogers location in June 2021 for $617,000, which is $12 per square foot.

The company also plans to build in Bentonville. Benton County property records indicate the owners paid $1.02 million this past June for 2.9 acres on Southwest Winsted Lane. The purchase price equals $8 per square foot.
