Baptist Health Foundation names 6 to board

Baptist Health Foundation recently added six new board members to help support its mission. The foundation was founded in 1963 and provides resources to a statewide system that has around 11,000 employees and includes 12 hospitals.

The new board members are:

Matthew Blaylock, president of Blaylock Heating & Air
Blaylock currently oversees the day-to-day operations of the business. Blaylock has announced Northside football and softball on the radio or P.A. for more than 20 years. He serves on the board of education for Fort Smith Public Schools and is in his second elected term. Blaylock’s business received the Patriotic Employer Award on behalf of the Office of the Secretary of Defense. The Blaylocks are longtime supporters of the Boys and Girls Clubs, Community Rescue Mission, Special Olympics and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), and are active members of Grand Avenue Baptist Church. He also serves as a board member of the Fort Smith Animal Haven. Matt earned his bachelor‘s degree from Arkansas Tech University.

Cara Butler, associate attorney at Mitchell Williams
Butler advises businesses and not-for-profits on employment and workplace issues. She counsels employers on wage and hour compliance matters with federal, state and local laws. She also advises human resources and business executives on management issues related to hiring and termination procedures, employee discipline procedures, state and federal leave laws and compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Prior to joining Mitchell Williams, Butler gained knowledge of employment law as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Lavenski R. Smith of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.

Jimmy Hammock
Hammock moved to Little Rock in 2015. He was born in Fordyce, Ark., but moved to Tennessee where he lived for more than 40 years. Hammock previously worked for Meritor, Inc., formerly Rockwell International, as the materials manager for 29 years. He has held various leadership positions with Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity as the local president (1993-1997), state vice state director (1997-2000), regional director (2000-2004) and the international president (2009-2013). Hammock has also served on various boards such as the Morristown-Hamblen Hospital Board of Directors, United Way of Hamblen County Board of Directors and Morristown College Board of Trustees. He has received many civic and community awards such as the Global Excellence Award and the Team Excellence Award from Meritor and as well as the Healing Hearts Award from Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System.

Tonya Hooks, senior investigator with the Arkansas Crime Victims Reparations Board
For the past 10 years, Hooks has handled cases specifically involving sexual assault where she works alongside the 20 child advocacy centers and rape crisis centers throughout the state. Born and raised in Little Rock, Hooks is a graduate of Little Rock Central High School and holds two bachelor’s degrees from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock – in marketing and economics. She is also a graduate of Class XXXI, from the Leadership Greater Little Rock-Business Program. Hooks has served on nine non-profit boards, including the Historic Arkansas Museum, Little Rock Central High School, TIGER Foundation, Potluck Food Rescue Mission of Arkansas and as a Sustainer with the Junior League of Little Rock. Recently, Hooks was named Volunteers in Public Schools (ViPS) “Volunteer of the Year” Alumni Award and was appointed to Little Rock Mayor Frank Scott’s Quality of Life Task Force.

Kelly Imhoff, marketing director at Harrison Energy Partners, a commercial HVAC provider in Arkansas and Oklahoma
She started her career in public relations at a Fortune 300 telecommunications company before honing her marketing acumen at Stone Ward advertising. Throughout her career, Imhoff has been responsible for national events and programs, local nonprofit fundraising events and strategic brand initiatives. Imhoff graduated from the University of Arkansas with a bachelor’s degree in business administration-marketing management, and obtained a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. As a Little Rock native, Imhoff has been involved in many community groups, including Leadership Greater Little Rock and its Advisory Board, the Contemporaries board for the Arkansas Arts Center (now known as Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts), and the Baptist Health Foundation Associate Board.

Elizabeth Machen, executive vice president and director of marketing and communications at Simmons Bank
She oversees branding and marketing strategy, corporate sponsorships and customer communications initiatives across Simmons Bank’s six-state footprint. Since joining Simmons Bank in 2014, assets have grown from $4.6 billion to approximately $27 billion. Machen and her team guide marketing strategy and implementation for nearly all major projects at the bank, supporting business units with functions that range from internal communications to customer-facing requests. A Pine Bluff native, Machen holds a degree from University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. She serves on the Baptist Health Hospital Associate Board, Arkansas Children’s Miracle Ball committee and has overseen corporate donations and sponsorships to benefit causes such as education, veterans’ and children’s health services, financial literacy training for low-income community members and hunger relief. Recently, Machen helped create Arkansas Champions Trust, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in the state of Arkansas, that owns and operates the Simmons Bank Championship. The Simmons Bank Championship will be the first-ever PGA TOUR Champions event held in Arkansas.
