The Northwest Arkansas hub of microloan nonprofit Kiva has planned an event to mark a seven-figure achievement.

The “$1 Million Milestone Celebration” is on Feb. 22 at TheatreSquared in downtown Fayetteville. The event will recognize the success of Kiva NWA borrowers and express gratitude to lenders.

Kiva, established in Uganda in 2005, expanded to the United States in 2009 and implemented the US Kiva Hubs program in 2011.

Kiva NWA launched in December 2019 and is supported by grants from the Walton Family Foundation and facilitated by Fayetteville nonprofit Startup Junkie Foundation.

Kiva NWA hit the $1 million mark late last year.

“We’re immensely proud of our entire community for their tireless efforts in providing essential services to Northwest Arkansas,” said Harrison Kitson, Kiva Program Associate. “We’re excited to celebrate the collective success of the past four years, and we invite the NWA small business community to join us in commemorating this milestone.”
