On Tuesday (Nov. 28), Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville announced the appointment of Donna Morris to its board of directors. Morris, the executive vice president and chief people officer of Walmart Inc., has more than 25 years of experience in talent development.

Morris joined Walmart in 2020 from Adobe, where she served as chief human resources officer and executive vice president of employee experience.

“With Donna’s help, we can continue to enhance engagement, access, and impact with our local audience and beyond,” Olivia Walton, board chair for Crystal Bridges, said in a statement. “Donna’s experience, leadership, and genuine passion for cultivating inclusive environments will undoubtedly add to the vibrant future we envision for Crystal Bridges.”

A native of Ottawa, Canada, Morris holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Carleton University and has various HR designations. She joined the board of trustees at Fordham University in 2022.

“I am deeply honored to join the Crystal Bridges Board of Directors and look forward to leveraging my experience with Walmart to support the continued growth of such a remarkable institution,” Morris said. “As a longtime advocate of Crystal Bridges, I’m eager to leverage my expertise to advance the museum’s mission of creating a vibrant space where all are welcome to experience the beauty and power of art.”

As Morris joins the board, Crystal Bridges bids farewell to Walmart Inc. president and CEO Doug McMillon, a longstanding museum supporter, who concludes his board service.

In her new role, Morris will serve alongside board members, including Olivia Walton, Alice Walton, Elizabeth Glassman, Thelma Golden, Annemarie Dillard Jazic, Hank Willis Thomas, John H. Tyson and Steuart Walton.
