The Venture Center, in partnership with the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Arkansas District Office, announced Tuesday (Sept. 19) applications are open for the Veteran Owned Small Business Accelerator.

This initiative is a new statewide program to accelerate the growth of Arkansas businesses founded by U.S. military veterans.

“At The Venture Center, we recognize the immense contributions that veterans bring to the business world,” said Daniel Schutte, Vice President of Strategic Partnerships at The Venture Center. “Through this accelerator program, we aim to honor their service by equipping them with the skills and support necessary to build successful businesses. By partnering with the SBA Arkansas District Office, we’re providing a comprehensive platform that addresses the unique challenges and opportunities that this group of entrepreneurs faces.”

Interested veteran entrepreneurs can apply by visiting venturecenter.co and submitting their business proposals. Selected participants will have the opportunity to engage in a curriculum that covers topics ranging from business strategy and marketing to finance and growth planning.

The program will culminate in a showcase event where participants can present their business ideas to potential investors, mentors, and partners.

“Our collaboration with The Venture Center underscores the SBA’s steadfast commitment to our nation’s veterans,” said Jerry Talbert, SBA Arkansas Deputy District Director. “These brave individuals have served our country with distinction, and it’s only fitting that we empower them in their entrepreneurial journeys. With the tools and mentorship this accelerator will provide, we’re paving the way for veteran-led businesses to thrive in Arkansas and beyond.”

“The collaboration between The Venture Center and the SBA Arkansas District Office emphasizes the commitment to nurturing entrepreneurship and economic growth within the veteran community,” said program advisor and consultant Rick Daniels of the Arkansas Employment Career Center. “The SBA’s expertise and resources combined with The Venture Center’s innovation ecosystem will create a dynamic environment that facilitates learning, collaboration, and growth.”
