CHI St. Vincent names new Infirmary president

Health care provider CHI St. Vincent announced Dr. William G. Jones as the new president of CHI St. Vincent Infirmary.

Jones has been with CHI St. Vincent Infirmary as chief medical officer and as vice president of medical affairs for the past five years. In addition to president of the Infirmary, he will continue to be the chief medical officer.

Additionally, Shawn Barnett, who served as the president at the Infirmary and North, will now serve exclusively as the president of CHI St. Vincent North.

“With an extensive background in healthcare leadership and a passion for patient-centered care, Dr. Jones is the perfect fit to lead CHI St. Vincent Infirmary. We are excited as he enters this new role, elevating our mission to provide the highest quality of healthcare to patients,” CHI St. Vincent Market CEO Chad Aduddell said. “We also express our deepest gratitude to Shawn Barnett for his continued exceptional leadership as president of our CHI St. Vincent North location. His visionary approach will continue to positively impact our patients and their families at North.”

Jones brings more than 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry. Before his roles with CHI St. Vincent, Jones practiced cardiothoracic surgery in Dallas for 27 years. While practicing, Jones was chief medical officer for Tenet Healthcare and Baylor Scott & White.

A native of El Dorado and a graduate of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences School of Medicine, Jones completed his training in cardiothoracic surgery at New York Presbyterian and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Hospitals in New York City, where he was also a member of the faculty of the Cornell University School of Medicine.
