The Center for Business and Economic Research (CBER) in the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas will release the annual State of the Northwest Arkansas Region Report on Oct. 27, according to a Wednesday (Sept. 21) news release.

The report will be released during a luncheon at the Hilton Garden Inn in Fayetteville. Oct. 21 is the deadline to register for the event, which also will include updates from Springdale-based nonprofit Northwest Arkansas Council. Link here to register online.

CBER Director Mervin Jebaraj will discuss new economic data for the nation, Arkansas and Northwest Arkansas; the Federal Reserve’s current monetary policy; inflation; lingering effects of the pandemic; Russia’s invasion of Ukraine; and the possible impacts of the Inflation Reduction Act that Congress recently approved.

The presentation begins at 11:45 a.m. on Oct. 27, following networking starting at 11 a.m. The approximately 75-minute program will include time for questions and answers. The cost for the luncheon program is $50.

The report, which was first published in 2011, measures the area’s economy compared to peer regions such as Madison, Wis.; Raleigh, N.C.; Provo-Orem, Utah; Des Moines, Iowa; and Austin, Texas.
