Democrat Josh Moody will have to wait until after a June 21 runoff election to see who he will face in the November general election in the race for Washington County judge. Republicans Mark Scalise and Patrick Deakins will be on the June GOP primary runoff ballot.

County Judge Joseph Wood did not seek re-election and instead ran for Arkansas Lt. Gov.

Republican Jay Cantrell handily won his bid to be the next Washington County Sheriff. No Democrats filed for the county’s top law enforcement position. The county had competitive races only in the judge position and for sheriff.
