One of Arkansas’ largest commercial construction companies has a new president.

C.R. Crawford Construction of Fayetteville announced Thursday (Oct. 28) that John Teeter is the firm’s new president. He will assume the new position on Nov. 1.

According to a news release, company founder Cody Crawford maintains majority ownership in the business and will continue to be actively involved.

“I will still be present and extremely active in the daily business,” he said. “As our primary clientele continue to evolve, my focus will remain on strategically growing our business and staying engaged with those clients.”

Crawford, 43, launched the business in 2006. The company employs 96 people, has completed projects in 19 states and is the largest construction company headquartered in Northwest Arkansas.

On the Northwest Arkansas Business Journal’s annual list of Largest Commercial Contractors published in June, C.R. Crawford ranked third with 2020 revenue of $195 million, a 30% drop attributed to COVID-19.

The list is ranked by revenue generated by Northwest Arkansas operations.

“I’m grateful for this opportunity,” Teeter said. “Cody founded the company on solid values such as integrity, quality, and dependability, and I’m excited to take on this new role and continue leading with those values in place. We have an extremely talented team at C.R. Crawford — providing opportunities for our people to grow and serving our clients’ unique needs will continue to be our priority.”

Teeter, 37 is a registered professional engineer and has worked in the construction industry for more than 15 years. In 2017, he joined C.R. Crawford as vice president of project management.

“It’s not the C.R. Crawford way to sit idle,” Crawford said. “We have a lot of racehorses in this company who want to run, and we want to harness that energy, experience, and knowledge to the advantage of our company, employees, and clients.

“After discussion among the partners of C.R. Crawford, we felt it was time to allow others within our group an opportunity to steer this ship. John Teeter has been an extraordinary asset to our company, and he has our full confidence. We are proud to have him serve C.R. Crawford in this capacity.”

The company’s two other owners, Jason Keathley and Scott Stokenbury, will continue to lead pre-construction and business development divisions, respectively.
