The Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center (ASBTDC) at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville is hosting a series of webinars to assist area businesses, nonprofits and independent contractors in understanding the new COVID-19 stimulus package.

The first webinar is on Jan. 13 from 2-3:30 p.m. To register, follow this link and click on “Understanding the new COVID—19 Stimulus Package”.

“We’re happy to walk through it with anyone, but this should provide a good starting point,” ASBTDC Director Mary Beth Brooks said.

The ASBTDC is part of a state and national network that provides free consulting services to business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs. Fayetteville’s regional office offers training, research, and consulting services to existing and potential business owners in Benton, Boone, Carroll, Madison, Marion, Newton, Searcy and Washington counties.

Brooks said to meet the increased demand during the COVID-19 pandemic, the ASBTDC has increased staffing to provide a broader range of services.

“Our consulting team offers individualized consulting in all areas including market research, startup consultation, growth strategies, marketing, social media, website assistance, human resources and all things financial,” Brooks said. “We have spent a crazy number of hours helping businesses through the first round of [Paycheck Protection Program] loans, the Ready for Business Grant, the Emergency Injury Disaster Loan and the Business Interruption Grant.

“Of course, now part of our team is focused on the new stimulus package, including the Employee Retention Tax Credit, and the next PPP rollout.”
