A Northwest Arkansas healthcare executive is one of the American Cancer Society’s top fundraisers this year in the nonprofit’s annual Real Men Wear Pink campaign.

Jeff Hunnicutt, CEO of Highlands Oncology Group in Springdale, raised $43,237 in donations this year, earning accolades as Real Man of the Year in Arkansas.

Real Men Wear Pink candidates are community leaders who are nominated to wear pink throughout October. Through their social media networks, they raise awareness and money to fight breast cancer.

Hunnicutt’s fundraising total ranked No. 10 nationally out of more than 3,000 participants in the fundraising challenge. The Real Men Wear Pink campaign in Arkansas included 23 participants who raised a combined $149,335. The campaign ranked No. 15 nationally and third in the South region.

“Like so many people, I have family, relatives and friends who have battled breast cancer,” Hunnicutt said. “Raising awareness for them in tandem with the American Cancer Society has been incredibly rewarding. Participating in efforts like this along with a career dedicated to helping patients fight all cancer is a role that I am honored to serve in this community.”
