Tiffny Calloway promoted to Delta Population Health Institute director of operations

The Delta Population Health Institute (DPHI) appointed Tiffny Calloway to serve as director of operations on Tuesday (Nov. 17).
The DPHI serves as the community engagement arm for New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine at Arkansas State University and works to build equitable communities of health throughout the Mississippi Delta through policy, system and environment change.
Calloway joined NYITCOM in 2019 and has spent the last year serving as a regional administrator in the college’s office of clinical education. In her new role, Calloway will facilitate the implementation of the DPHI’s strategic plans, oversee the operations of community engagement teams and provide oversight of transformative community initiatives. She will facilitate partnership engagements and deliver the technical assistance services of the DPHI.
“We are thrilled to have Tiffny join us in this role,” said Brookshield Laurent, D.O., executive director of the DPHI. “Her extensive background in community and economic development and her continued commitment to community service make her the ideal person to help guide our efforts to partner with communities to transform the health of the Delta region through education, research, policy and authentic community engagement.”
Prior to joining NYITCOM, Calloway served as the director of community development for the City of Jonesboro where she catalyzed community and economic development and promoted fair housing practices, neighborhood revitalization and services to underserved populations. She secured more than $10 million in federal and private grant dollars for community investment for the city.
She also served as a regional economic development officer for Delta Regional Authority to federal, state and local stakeholders as a key resource for development, coordination, funding and implementation of local and regional projects focusing on place-based strategies, transportation and necessary public infrastructure. Additionally, Calloway was involved in workforce training and development, small business and entrepreneurship development, disaster resiliency and response and economic recovery.
Calloway is originally from Pine Bluff and is an ASU alumnus. She serves on the board of the foundation for Jonesboro Public Schools, the Link Theatre Company and is a member of the Kappa Nu Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
