Little Rock-based financial services firm Stephens Inc. has added to its roster of sponsored professional golfers.

The company announced Monday (March 9) a sponsorship agreement with PGA Tour rookie Sebastian Cappelen. As part of the agreement, the Stephens logo will appear on the left sleeve of Cappelen’s golf shirt during tournament play through 2022.

Financial terms were not disclosed. Cappelen joins fellow PGA Tour and LPGA Tour professionals Austin Cook, Andrew Landry, David Lingmerth, Maria Fassi, Gaby López and Stacy Lewis as Stephens’ brand ambassadors. They all played collegiately at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville.

“It is an exciting time in golf as there is so much emerging talent, which is certainly exemplified at the University of Arkansas,” Warren Stephens, Chairman, President and CEO of Stephens Inc., said in a statement. “We are thrilled to have Sebastian join our team of brand ambassadors. He brings integrity, passion and sportsmanship in his life and in every round he plays. These are shared values that he has with us at Stephens. We look forward to being a part of his professional career.”

Cappelen, 29, is a native of Denmark and currently resides in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. At the UA he was a four-time All-American and is the school’s all-time leader in scoring average (72.0).  In addition, he won the 2013 SEC individual title.

Cappelen finished 16th on the Korn Ferry Tour last year, and he earned his PGA Tour card after a runner-up finish in the Wichita Open. He has so far played in 13 PGA Tour events tournaments and finished in the top 35 three times. His best finish was a tie for 6th at The American Express in January in La Quinta, Calif. He finished seven shots behind former Hog Andrew Landry, the tournament winner.

“I’m very excited and honored to be partnering up with Stephens,” Cappelen said in a statement. “I love the Arkansas connection and my past experiences with Mr. Stephens have been incredible. I look forward to building a strong and lasting relationship.”
