Georgia-Pacific CEO to headline economic development foundation luncheon in April
Georgia-Pacific President and CEO Christian Fischer will headline the Arkansas Economic Development Foundation luncheon (AEDF) on April 21 at the Statehouse Convention Center in Little Rock.
Christian Fischer was named president and CEO of Georgia-Pacific in March 2017 after serving in a variety of company roles for more than 30 years. GP, the maker of internationally known products such as Dixie cups, Brawny paper towels and Quilted Northern bathroom tissue, has plants in Crossett, Gurdon, Fordyce and Fort Smith.
“Georgia-Pacific is an important partner in our state’s timber industry,” said Gus Vratsinas, AEDF President. “We look forward to hearing Mr. Fischer share his vision for the company’s future, and appreciate GP for recognizing the major role the Foundation plays in our economic development efforts.”
Proceeds from the luncheon, a collaborative event being held by AEDF and the Arkansas Industrial and Economic Development Foundation (AIEDF), will benefit state economic development work through activities such as research, site visits and recruitment support led by the Arkansas Economic Development Commission (AEDC).
Gov. Asa Hutchinson will also attend the event and make remarks.
The luncheon is Tuesday, April 21, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Wally Allen Ballroom of the Statehouse Convention Center. Tickets are $300 each or $2,500 for a table of 10. For luncheon sponsorship and ticket inquiries, contact Kassie Rinearson at [email protected] or 501-377-4434.
