Class of 2019 C Suite David Kimball President Benchmark Group Inc.

Achievements: Kimball leads one of the largest engineering and architectural firms in Arkansas. He was named president in 2018 and has practiced mechanical engineering for more than 25 years. He is a volunteer and teacher for church youth groups, and he’s taught slide tackles while coaching youth soccer for several years.

What is the best business advice you’ve received? Be quick to listen and slow to speak.

What is the best business advice you have given? Do the right thing.

What keeps you up at night or worries you the most? My age. Not that I’m worrying about it, but I used to be the soundest sleeper ever. Could sleep anywhere and anytime. I hardly knew what it was like to be awake before my alarm went off. Now I know!

What’s your favorite restaurant in Northwest Arkansas for a business lunch? Las Palmas in downtown Rogers.

If you weren’t in your current profession, what would you be doing? Teaching math in a foreign country.

What is your “why?” Why do you get up in the morning, and what keeps you motivated? Families. It used to be primarily my family, now it is all the families our company affects.

In one sentence, can you express the most important thing about being a leader? The two most important things about being a leader are serving and respecting others.
