Little Rock investment bank Stephens Inc. announced Thursday (May 30) it has hired Jay Bliley as managing director for its Financial Institutions Group (FIG) in Investment Banking. He will be based in Atlanta, company officials said.

Bliley will focus on asset managers and insurance brokers working closely with Stephens’ domestic and international FIG teams. The industry veteran brings to Stephens more than 18 years of experience advising and executing transactions within the financial sector. He joins the firm from Bank of America.

“Jay’s experience is the perfect complement to that of our existing team – both in the U.S. and abroad. He is highly engaged and has built an impressive reputation and network. We believe Jay will be important to the continued growth of our FIG team and to the value we deliver our clients,” said Stephens Executive Vice President Brad Eichler, head of the Little Rock firm’s investment banking group.

“Having long-admired Stephens’ relationship-centric approach, I am thrilled to join an organization so closely aligned with my work ethos,” said Bliley. “I look forward to being a part of the firm’s Financial Institutions Group.”
