2019 is shaping up as a significant year for Springdale-based restaurant/sports bar chain Foghorn’s. Not only will the company celebrate its 15th anniversary, but there are also plans for an expansion to central Arkansas.

Owner Jeff Hodges says he has purchased an empty building for $600,000 at 2310 Sanders Road in Conway, which is visible from southbound Interstate 40. Flake & Kelley Commercial in Little Rock was the listing agency. Outback Steakhouse was the tenant until late last year when it relocated to a new building in Conway.

Hodges said he is planning to renovate the 6,340-square-foot building as the company’s sixth location, joining stores in Fayetteville (2), Springdale, Rogers and Siloam Springs.

Hodges has opened three Foghorn’s Express formats inside Core Public House craft beer locations in North Little Rock, Little Rock and Hot Springs. But a Conway store will be the company’s first brick-and-mortar restaurant outside Northwest Arkansas.

Hodges said the restaurant is within walking distance of a slew of hotels, which should be a boost for business. He aims for the restaurant to open in the first quarter of 2019.

Foghorn’s has about 175 employees, and the Conway store will add 40 to that total, Hodges said. Paragould-based First National Bank is backing the renovation.
