Want to buy a downtown bar in Fayetteville, driven almost exclusively by a clientele of college students? There’s one for sale.

Stir, a popular college bar on Dickson Street, is on the market. The sale is for the business only, and does not include the building at 422 W. Dickson St.

Both the bar and real estate are owned by Dave Bass, who owns other businesses in Fayetteville. Bass did not want to comment on the decision to sell the bar.

Fayetteville real estate firm The McLain Group (TMG) is marketing the business, which Bass opened in 2004.

Alexa McLain, a TMG project manager, said Bass wants to divest of the Stir business to focus on other ventures. She said the bar is open Thursday through Saturday and is “wildly popular” among college students at the University of Arkansas. The bar is open from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.

According to an online business listing, Stir has annual gross revenue of $427,000. The bar, which has about 10 employees, is being offered for $395,000, but that price will increase July 15, according to the listing, to account for the busy fall season when college students return for the new school year.
