Raycom Media has named Chris Conroy as vice president and general manager of KFVS (CBS) and WQWQ (CW) in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Conroy joins KFVS/WQWQ from Raycom Media sister station KAIT (ABC) in Jonesboro, Ark., where he has worked as vice president and general manager since 2014. KAIT is a content partner with Talk Business & Politics.

A timetable for his departure was not released.

“Chris has done a remarkable job representing KAIT and serving the viewers of Northeast Arkansas and Southeast Missouri,” Raycom Media regional group vice president Tim Ingram said. “I am sure he will bring that same energy to KFVS, WQWQ and the heartland.”

Conroy is a 30-year veteran of the broadcast industry. He started his career in his hometown of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., and went on to work at television stations in New Orleans, Atlanta, Birmingham and Memphis.

Conroy serves on the board of the Arkansas Broadcasters Association, is on the board of the Food Bank of Northeast Arkansas, and the Delta Symphony Orchestra. He is a Rotary member.

“KFVS and WQWQ make up one of America’s finest legacy media operations, and I’m thrilled to be joining the KFVS family,” Conroy said. “KFVS is known for excellence in media while serving the heartland. I will work very hard to build on that firm foundation and provide the service our consumers and clients expect across multiple platforms and screens.”
