A Fayetteville attorney is planning to relocate his practice to a new building, one that will give it room to grow.

Atwell Law Firm owner Chad Atwell recently paid $420,000 for a 3,178-square-foot building at 3853 N. Crossover Road, just north of the Joyce Boulevard intersection. The purchase price equals $132.16 per square foot.

Signature Bank of Arkansas financed the deal. David Erstine with CBRE in Fayetteville was the listing agent.

265 Liquor LLC, led by Christopher C. Wilson, was the previous owner of the single-story building. Lucky Dog Liquor was the most recent tenant before closing last year.

Atwell plans to renovate the building and relocate his law practice from its existing location at nearby 2827 Millennium Drive. He said the move will double the office space for the practice, which has three attorneys and one paralegal. He’s planning to hire additional attorneys this year.

“How many, I just don’t know,” Atwell said. “I would like to hire two attorneys this year.”

Atwell, who spent three years as deputy prosecutor in Benton County, opened his private practice in December 2007. He characterizes his firm as full-service, built to handle several different areas for a client. Atwell also provides pro bono work to the indigent in criminal and family law cases, as well as to veterans re-integrating into the community.

He hopes to have renovations to the new building completed by April 1.
