J.B. Hunt hosts traveling memorial at corporate offices in Lowell
J.B. Hunt Transport Services will host the Arkansas Run for the Fallen Traveling Memorial through Nov. 12 outside the Lowell-based carrier’s corporate offices.
The memorial is open to the public and includes short biographies of each of the 141 Arkansas soldiers who died while serving since Sept. 11, 2001, according to a news release. Nonprofit organization Arkansas Run for the Fallen is responsible for the traveling memorial and works to provide memorials for the soldiers who died in service and supports their families.
“At J.B. Hunt and across the nation, November is a time to honor and celebrate our veterans,” said Eric Airola, co-chair of J.B. Hunt’s Veterans Employee Resource Group (VERG). “It’s a privilege to share their stories, and J.B. Hunt is proud to do its part in supporting those who have served our country.”
Along with the traveling memorial, Arkansas Run for the Fallen hosts a run each year that includes one mile for every Arkansan who has died while serving on active duty since 9/11. The 7th Annual Arkansas Run for the Fallen is set for March 16-18, 2018. The nonprofit and J.B. Hunt also contribute to Wreaths Across America, an initiative to place a wreath on the headstone of every veteran’s grave during the holidays.
