Springdale Parks and Recreation receives $13,000 Wal-Mart Foundation grant

Springdale Parks and Recreation has been awarded a $13,000 grant from the Wal-Mart Foundation as part of its Northwest Arkansas giving program, the city announced in a press release.
The funding will be used source to further its community outreach programs, according to the city.
The first planned purchase is equipment for the Movies in the Park program, which offers free, family-friendly movies to the public.
The next and final Movies in the Park event this year will be a showing of “The Lego Batman Movie” on Friday, Aug. 11, at the Springdale Recreation Center.
