Forty Under 40: Tim Hudson

When Tim Hudson moved his family to Northwest Arkansas from the manic hustle of Atlanta, he planned to take some time to relax and slow down his pace. Promptly failing that goal, Hudson flung himself into his position as executive vice president of the Ozark Guidance Foundation in charge of fund raising and marketing. A non-profit organization, Ozark Guidance provides mental health care in the area.

Since Hudson, 37, took over four years ago, the average annual donations have almost tripled. Initiating a comprehensive marketing plan for Ozark Guidance, Hudson raised community awareness about mental health needs.

“We’re giving people back their lives,” Hudson said, “and that’s the best part.”

Next, Hudson intends to set up an endowment of about $12 million to accommodate increased projected need for charitable care in the area.

Hudson’s taste for fervor doesn’t end with his regular work hours, however. Currently a board member for the Projects for Victims of Family Violence, president of the Washington Elementary Parent-Teacher Organization and a volunteer for First Night in Fayetteville, Hudson thrives in the community as well.
