Matt Mawby likes seeing new faces in town. But he likes seeing more familiar ones in his office.

As vice president and general manager of Rogers-based Professional Business Systems since 1996, Mawby has made the company one of the top 10 Minolta dealerships in the country.

“I like having tenure with our existing staff,” Mawby said. “We want to build long-term players within PBS so that our clients don’t feel like they’re doing business with the company, rather with friends.”

Minolta district sales manager Kelly Peck of Atlanta said Mawby and PBS “do everything right. They do things people don’t expect. They’re a step ahead. They go the extra mile in everything they do. You know that when you walk in their door because you could eat off their floor.”

Mawby, 35, joined the company 13 years ago. He was born in California and raised on a farm next to the White River east of Elkins. He credits farm work for teaching him responsibility.

Today, Mawby has even more responsibility with a family. He enjoys golf, but is particularly fond of working with his sons in youth baseball. “That’s the thing that shows you what you’re doing all this for,” he said.
