When Jim Stuckey joined J.V. Manufacturing in 1990, the business did a more than respectable $14 million in sales per year with Cram-A-Lot trash compactors and balers. This year, the company’s sales are budgeted for $34 million.

“That’s mind-boggling,” said Stuckey, 37. “When I came here I was supervising four people. Now it’s 10.”

Stuckey, originally from Texarkana, graduated from the University of Arkansas in accounting in 1986.

“I came up here and didn’t want to leave,” he said.

Stuckey is currently working on information systems for J.V. Manufacturing, tying in various departments. Where different divisions once reported to as many as eight departments, they can now report to one. J.V. Manufacturing also has a plant in Sacramento, Calif., and has one service center in Dallas with another soon to come in Seattle.

Stuckey enjoys the “family atmosphere” at the company and “working for people with common goals.”

A treasurer for Springdale Missionary Baptist Church, Stuckey also enjoys playing softball. His favorite thing is spending time with his two daughters, coaching their softball team and taking them on trips to Devil’s Den.
