The Poultry Federation names new board members, elects officers

The Poultry Federation (TPF) of Arkansas, Missouri and Oklahoma has announced its Board of Directors membership for the 2016-2017 fiscal year.

The new members are: David Fryar, general manager, Butterball; Brian Esters, live production manager, George’s Inc.; and Toby Tapp, live operations manager, Wayne Farms to serve a three-year term beginning July 1, 2016.

The board also elected Russell Mayo, territory manager, International Paper to serve as the Allied Industries Representative to the board from the processing sector of the industry.

The Board of Directors reappointed Robert Garlington, George’s Inc.; Vaughn King, Aviagen; Wes McClure, Simmons Foods; Mike Pruitt, Cobb-Vantress; and Tim Thompson, Cal-Maine to serve another three-year term.

The Board of Directors appointed the following individuals as officers of the board:
• Chairman, James Smith, senior vice-president of live production and first processing, Simmons Foods;
• Vice-Chairman, Jim Smith, president, Keith Smith Company;
• Treasurer, Drew McGee, senior vice-president-general manager raw poultry, Tyson Foods; and
• Secretary, Mike Pruitt, general manager of North America, Cobb-Vantress.

The Poultry Federation is a tristate trade association representing the poultry and egg industry in Arkansas, Missouri and Oklahoma. The Poultry Federation is based in Little Rock, Ark., and has operational offices in Jefferson City, Mo., and Oklahoma City, Okla.
