Little Rock-based Hugg & Hall Equipment Company has announced the acquisition of RPM Services & Rentals, one of the largest independent equipment rental companies in the southeastern United States, for an undisclosed price. Headquartered in Houma, La., RPM Services & Rentals has additional locations in Broussard and Baton Rouge.

The main revenue generator comes from the region’s onshore commercial and construction markets. Other revenue is directly related to the offshore oil-and-gas industry that includes skid-mounted air compressors and tools for painting, blasting, coating, and other maintenance functions.

Founded in 2008 by Terry Gold, RPM has approximately 30 employees. The acquisition will increase Hugg & Hall Equipment’s Louisiana footprint to 12 stores and position the company to capitalize on favorable industry and regional trends, it announced through a press release.

“The acquisition of RPM fully supports our strategic objectives in South Louisiana, where we see significant growth and demand for equipment rental solutions,” stated Rick Vollmer, vice-president of Rental at Hugg & Hall. “Under Terry Gold’s direction, RPM has become a highly valued and reliable partner to industrial and construction companies. We are excited to build upon Terry’s success and to further the good work of RPM’s fantastic team of rental professionals.”

Gold said he was “thrilled to join the Hugg & Hall team” and that the transaction presents “fantastic synergies for both companies.”

Hugg & Hall Equipment Company has been family-owned and managed since 1956 and is one of the largest materials and personnel handling equipment dealers in the region, servicing industrial and construction equipment needs in Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Texas and Missouri.
