Arkansas-based Power Technology, Inc. has received the President’s “E” award for exports. The announcement was made by U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker for Power Technology’s contribution to expanding U.S. exports.

Power Technology, which makes lasers for a variety of biomedical, scientific and business applications, exports to 37 countries worldwide.

“Power Technology has demonstrated a sustained commitment to export expansion. The ‘E’ Awards Committee was very impressed with Power Technology’s innovative scientific instrument technologies. The company’s adaptation of its product line to maintain compliance with international regulations was also particularly notable. Power Technology’s achievements have undoubtedly contributed to national export expansion efforts that support the U.S. economy and create jobs,” said Pritzker in her congratulatory letter to the company announcing its selection as an award recipient.

“We are thrilled and honored to receive the President’s “E” Award for Exports. Providing high-quality American made products to the rest of the world is a challenging and rewarding endeavor” said William Burgess, Vice President of Operations for Power Technology. “Our first product was exported over 40 years ago. The increase in our exports since then has contributed to the ongoing growth of our business and ultimately to our ability to create many new jobs here at home.”

Burgess said the company’s exports directly support more than a quarter of the jobs at the company’s primary manufacturing facility in Alexander, Arkansas. Currently partnered with over a dozen international distributors to promote products to foreign markets, the ongoing growth of exports is a prime focus for future growth. With distribution agreements in the United Kingdom, France, Spain, Finland, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Israel, Japan, South Africa, Korea, Singapore, and Taiwan, Power Technology has a solid, and growing, global presence, Burgess said.
